










James Mourafetis- Chief Technology Officer
James Mourafetis is a manufacturing management and quality systems professional.
James has an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously re-invents organizations.
His successful approaches have produced positive organizational impact at both
the system and process level, providing solutions that have resulted in significantly
improved results for all stakeholders of the organization.
James Mourafetis and his team conducted benchmark assessments of Chinese manufacturers
supplying products to the rapidly growing Chinese OEM and first tier automakers. The scope of
these projects included benchmark assessments and world class development involving 110
manufacturers throughout China. Under James' leadership, the same team is also re-engineering
the entire quality, operating and logistics system of a large, Chinese mainland automaker involving
seven vehicle assembly plants.
James led a corporate-wide ISO/TS 16949 development project for a major semiconductor
company, including their Asian headquarters in Singapore. He also led a corporate ISO/TS 16949
implementation for North America’s largest commercial truck & van equipment and installation
manufacturer, with a total of nine North American facilities.
Prior to assuming his current position as Chief Technology Officer- James Group and General
Manager- Omnex Southeast, James Mourafetis was the Director for Lean Six Sigma for Omnex, and
a senior consultant implementing Lean Manufacturing and Quality Improvement Technologies. He
has led Lean Six Sigma (LSS) projects across the globe, including major implementations in
Thailand and India. In addition, James has led many Quality Management System implementations
including projects for Kavlico and Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas. James was the Lean
Champion for Merck Industries co-developing a Global company wide web-based Lean Tools
training program.
At Ford Motor Company, James held various quality and production management positions at both
the Wixom Assembly Plant and the Chicago Assembly Plant. At Wixom, James held various
management positions in manufacturing and quality. In addition, he possesses a thorough
understanding of managing human resources as well as equipment and materials. As a
Manufacturing Planning Specialist, James was primarily responsible for implementing the area’s
Value Stream Map; improving the capabilities of the UAW Continuous Improvement Work Groups
(CIWG); successfully launching both minor and major vehicle model changeovers; rebalancing
direct labor costs associated with model mix, volume changes, and cost objectives; and
continuously driving out waste. He also had significant responsibilities for continual improvement
while at General Motors.
James is a certified Six Sigma Black belt; Auditor, Consultant and Trainer in ISO9001, ISO13485,
ISO/TS16949 and OHSAS18001. James received his training from Purdue University, Eastern
Michigan University, General Motors Corporation, Packaging Corporation of America, OMNEX
Management & Engineering Consulting Firm and Ford Motor Company.
